Ablaze with Color: A Story of Painter Alma Thomas (HC)

Alma Thomas was the first black woman to have a solo exhibition at New York City's Whitney Museum. She grew up with a passion for the arts and went on to share this passion by teaching children, determined to make art accessible to everyone. It wasn't until she was nearly seventy years old when she stopped teaching and began to focus on her own art. Back matter provides a timeline of Alma's life, an image of the painting that hangs in the White House and more.
